Another solid performance by International Grandmaster Benjamin Karpov sunk the ego of IM Ricnesh Ramash. Ric was trailing by 3-0 when he got a consolation win before losing the remaining 2 games in dramatic style.
Ricnesh's French defence could not save him, adding on from Ben's Caro-Kann defence and English Opening.
Now after 90 games, Ben Karpov lead his rival at 60 wins to 19, with 11 draws.

With this win under his belt ZM Ben Karpov finally clinch the title. To add salt to his opponent's wound this is the widest winning-margin in the history of the tournament. After 7 months of gruelling fight a winner is finally emerged... in the like of Ben Karpov.
